Use this checklist when requesting quotes from a private label gummy manufacturer. A useful quotation connects the formula, finished pack, testing and approval process so your purchasing team can compare equivalent projects.
1. Describe the Finished Product
Provide your intended product, ingredients, amounts per gummy and per serving, gummies per serving and target piece weight. Identify the exact destination country, intended consumer group and proposed label. Share any reference formula or sample, and state which details are requirements and which are preferences.
For example, a vitamin D3 gummy brief should state the D3 amount and label units. A D3 + K2 gummy brief should identify each vitamin's amount and ingredient form separately. Ask for a feasibility review before treating a reference concept as an approved formula.
2. Convert MOQ into Finished Packs
SHK Vita's standard gummy MOQ is 100,000 individual gummies. For 60-count bottles, approximately 1,667 finished bottles are needed to reach this volume. Confirm the final whole-pack count, total gummy count and any manufacturing allowance in the quotation.
State bottle or pouch preference, fill count, closure, artwork, label finish, inserts and carton requirements. Do not compare a bulk-gummy price with a fully packaged-product price without identifying the difference.
3. Agree Taste, Texture and Formula Preferences
Describe flavor, shape, color, texture, gelling system and sugar requirements. Ask how these preferences affect the proposed ingredient loading, gummy weight, sample plan and packaging. Availability and suitability should be confirmed for the actual formulation.
4. Put Testing and Documents in the RFQ
- Which finished-product ingredient-content checks are included?
- What methods, sampling plan and acceptance criteria will be used?
- Which microbiological and contaminant checks are covered?
- What evidence supports the proposed packaging, storage instructions and shelf life?
- Will the supplied COA represent the raw material or the finished batch?
- Which traceability records and project documents will be available before shipment?
- Do any manufacturing certificates identify the relevant facility, scope and validity period?
Give the supplier your required document checklist early. Have the formula, artwork and exact destination-country requirements reviewed before final production approval.
5. Compare the Complete Quotation
Ask whether the quote includes development, samples, agreed testing, primary packaging, labels, cartons and shipment preparation. Confirm payment terms, approval responsibilities and the project-specific schedule. Identify the cost and timing consequences of a later formula or artwork change before ordering.
6. Keep a Written Approval Record
Before production, agree the formula version, finished-product specification, physical sample criteria, artwork version, packaging specification, test plan, required documents, quantity and shipment-release criteria. Link each approval to the relevant project version so that repeat orders have a clear reference.
