This purchasing guide is for supplement brands preparing a magnesium glycinate capsule OEM inquiry. Its purpose is to help your purchasing, product and quality teams agree what is being quoted before samples and production are approved.
1. Separate the Three Magnesium Quantities
In your brief, identify elemental magnesium per serving, magnesium ingredient input weight and total capsule fill weight as separate fields. Also state capsules per serving. Ask the supplier to explain how the proposed ingredient specification supports the intended finished-product declaration.
Identify the intended magnesium glycinate material and ask whether the proposed ingredient is buffered or unbuffered. Request its composition and specification so that your technical team can review it. Do not approve a formula from the product name alone.
2. Translate Capsule MOQ into Your Pack Plan
SHK Vita's standard hard capsule MOQ is 300,000 individual capsules. At 60 capsules per bottle, that is 5,000 bottles. At 90 capsules per bottle, 3,334 complete bottles would require 300,060 capsules. Confirm whole-pack quantities and manufacturing allowances in the final quotation.
Ask whether the quoted price covers the capsule shell, bottle or pouch, closure, label, any insert, outer carton and agreed testing. Compare suppliers on the same pack specification.
3. Ask Which Documents Describe the Finished Product
- Which raw-material specifications and identity documents are available?
- Which finished-product tests are included, and what batch will the COA represent?
- How will elemental magnesium content be assessed against the agreed specification?
- Which microbiological and contaminant limits, methods and testing responsibilities are included?
- Which evidence supports the agreed packaging, storage conditions and proposed shelf life?
- Do the supplied manufacturing certificates identify the facility, relevant scope and validity period?
Record document requests in the RFQ so that they can be reviewed with the formula and price. Ask your product and quality team to confirm the exact destination-country requirements before label and production approval.
4. Set Sample Acceptance Criteria
Define capsule size, shell, appearance, fill-weight specification and packaging presentation. State which checks require a report and which need a physical sample. Keep a written approval record tied to the agreed formula and packaging version.
5. Compare the Complete Project Schedule
Request a schedule that covers ingredient and packaging preparation, sampling, testing, artwork approval, production and shipment release. Confirm what starts each stage and what customer approvals are required. SHK Vita confirms lead times per project rather than publishing one fixed schedule for every formula.
